Ayodhya: In Andhra Pradesh, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has demanded the Central Government to investigate these cases, accusing the Jagan Mohan Reddy government of inaction under the conspiracy, due to increasing attacks on temples.
VHP’s provincial media in-charge Sharad Sharma said on Saturday that the statue of Lord Subramanyeshwara Swamy was damaged in the Vighneshwar temple in Rajahmundry. The attacks on temples in Andhra Pradesh are not taking a name. Mohan Reddy’s inaction of the Chief Minister shows such incidents in the state.
He said that there have been 120 incidents of attacks on temples in Andhra Pradesh in 19 months. He has full support to the culprits. In Andhra Pradesh, the Central Government should investigate these cases with regard to the incidents of attacks on temples, damaged idols and chariots that have been going on for the last 1.5 years.
Mr. Sharma said that according to the data received by the VHP, there have been 120 incidents of attacks on temples in Andhra Pradesh in 19 months and recently six idols in Pithapuram were damaged. Sri Ram Nagar of Rajahmundry falls in the East Godavari district. Rajahmundry is also called the cultural capital of Andhra, although the activity of Christian missionaries has increased here.
He said that on the night of 31 and January 1, the police have registered a case in this case against the culprits for protesting in relation to this incident. Apart from this, the statue of Komalamma, the favored goddess of the local people, was also tampered with at the Pheru Ghat in Vandalamamidi. It is located in front of the Modakondamma Padalu temple located in the temple department agency. Some unknown anti-social elements broke the idol of Lord Subramanyeshwar using an iron rod. Broken hands fell in the temple itself. This is not the handiwork of the robbers, because not a single precious item had disappeared from the temple. The temple was built in 2002 and attracts a large number of Hindu devotees.
Locals say that people associated with Christianity celebrating the new year have carried out the incident. The VHP said that God is not safe even in the Jagan government. The state government remains silent on the incidents taking place in Hindu temples. In the past, the statues of three lions of chariots were damaged in the Bezwada Kanak Durga temple. The chariot was set on fire in the Amravati temple. There was no arrest of the culprits anywhere. If the government had taken action on time, the next incidents would not have happened.
The VHP said that even two days before this incident, the idol of Lord Shri Ram was damaged by unknown miscreants in a temple situated on a hill in Nellimarla mandal of Vizianagaram district. The idol was enshrined in the Bodikonda Kodandaram temple located on the hilltop near Ramathirtham village. The unruly lock broke into the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and cut off the head of Swami Kodandaramudu. The main temple is at the foot of the hill.
He has demanded from the central government that the attacks on the faith of Hindus in Andhra Pradesh are continuing under a conspiracy. The living idols installed in the monasteries are being fragmented. In such a case, the CBI should conduct an inquiry and issue a notice to the state government to give an answer in this regard.
