A four-Test Border Gavaskar series is being played between India and Australia. Australia won the first Test of the series by eight wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Now the second Test match is to be played between the two teams from Saturday (December 26, Boxing Day), which will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). In the first Test, Team India was able to score only 36 runs in the second innings, so in the second Test, some big changes can be seen in the team. Captain Virat Kohli is going on the paternity leave, while Mohammed Shami will no longer be able to take part in this series due to injury. Ajinkya Rahane will lead the team in the remaining three Tests.
After the flop show of Team India in the first test match, know which five changes can be seen in the team-
1- KL Rahul in place of Prithvi Shaw Rahul’s form has been good in limited overs cricket, so he can get the job to start the innings instead of Shaw. Shaw is expected to be dropped from the team, the way he was dismissed in both innings of Adelaide, since then he may be dropped from the team for some time.
2- Shubman Gill in place of Virat Kohli Rahul and Mayank Agarwal can be introduced in the innings, while Virat Kohli can be replaced by Shubman Gill for batting at number four. Gill impressed with his batting in a practice match on this tour, apart from this he also appeared in good form during the IPL.
3- Rishabh Pant in place of Riddhiman Saha Saha was also irresponsibly dismissed in both innings of the Adelaide Test, besides missing a few catches during wicketkeeping. Looking at the future, Rishabh Pant could be included in his playing XI. Now it has to be seen that if Pant gets this chance, then how do he redeem it.
4- Ravindra Jadeja in place of Hanuma Vihari Vihari looked completely out of bat with the Adelaide Test. He contributed 16 runs in the first innings and 8 runs in the second innings. Talking about Ravindra Jadeja, he can contribute to the team with both ball and bat. Jadeja has won hearts with his batting in the recent past, so he can be preferred over Vihari.
5- Mohammed Siraj in place of Mohammed Shami Shami’s injury is a big blow for Team India. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma, all three bowlers, played a key role in Team India’s 2–1 series victory on the previous tour of Australia. Ishant was already out of the Test series and now Shami is also out. It is believed that Siraj will be replaced in the playing XI.
India’s probable playing XI for Melbourne Test: Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shubman Gill, Ajinkya Rahane (Captain), Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, Umesh Yadav.
