Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar along with Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Aamir has named Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah as the most vicious and best bowler in world cricket at present.
Shoaib Akhtar said that Bumrah is leading the Indian fast bowling in the ongoing Bowder-Gavaskar series against Australia in the absence of veteran fast bowler Ishant Sharma. Even after the injury to his colleagues Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav, his performance in the first two Tests has been the best. Bumrah has performed brilliantly in the first two Tests against Australia. He has taken eight wickets in two matches. He is only two wickets behind from Pat Cummins and Ravichandran Ashwin in this series of wickets.
Akhtar told Sports Today, ‘I think Bumrah is probably the most vicious fast bowler at present. Bumrah is a bigger player than Mohammad Aamir and even Wasim Akram. I have seen Mohammad Asif bowling. I have seen batsmen literally weeping while facing Asif. Once VVS Laxman had said how do I face this boy. AB de Villiers literally wept during the Asian Test Championship.
He said, ‘People were skeptical about Bumrah’s fitness in Test cricket. Even I was watching them very closely. He has a bouncer who confuses the players and the best thing is that he is a very good person. Akhtar praised Bumrah for his positive attitude towards the game, saying that most Indian fast bowlers show aggression not through their physical attitude but through their bowling.
