In view of the upcoming festivals, assembly elections and movements to be held in five states of the country, Section 144 has been implemented in the Commissionerate Lucknow of Uttar Pradesh. Giving information, Joint Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Lucknow, Naveen Arora said that this state government has taken this decision with the objective of maintaining peace and order in the capital.
The order issued by the police administration said that Section 144 has been implemented in the Commissionerate Lucknow in view of the farmers ‘movement, political parties’ demonstrations, upcoming festivals and elections to be held in one of the five states of the country, which will remain in effect till April 5. During this period, only 50 percent of its capacity will remain in any closed hall or room.
At the same time, only 50 people will be able to gather in the open space. Also, given the increasing impact of the corona epidemic, it will be mandatory for everyone to wear masks and follow social distancing. After the imposition of Section 144 in Lucknow, no procession can be taken without the permission of the police, nor will it be allowed to play loudspeakers anywhere from ten o’clock in the morning to six in the morning. The order issued said that during this period, no person will carry sticks, sticks, (except for the disabled), sharp-edged knives, swords, furs, tridents.
