Jalandhar: Punjab PWD Minister Vijay Indra Singla on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the construction work of the Chowgitti-Laddewali railway overbridge, which will be built at a cost of Rs 23.47 lakh.
In the presence of MP Santokh Chaudhary, MLA Rajinder Berry, MLA Sushil Rinku, Mayor Jagdish Raj Raja, Minister Vijay Indra Singla told the media after laying the foundation stone of the ROB that work on the project for construction of ROBs on about 27 railway crossings in Punjab Its going on. People will get big relief from these projects. On the Chaugitti-Laddewali ROB, he said that this project will directly benefit more than one lakh people, who live around Jalandhar-Pathankot and Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur Road. He praised MLA Rajinder Berry for getting the construction work done for this ROB as soon as possible, who has started the work of ROB by taking NOC from all the departments in a very short time. He informed that the work of this 12 meter wide ROB will be completed in about 18 months and the tender has been given to M / s Associated Engineer, Maksudan, the firm of Jalandhar itself.
Mr. Singla said that 58 development works are being done in Jalandhar at a cost of Rs 25 crore by the PWD department, which will be completed before the elections and the project will be dedicated to the public. During this, he informed that senior officials of the department have been asked to prepare and present the proposal of Talhan Road so that this work can also be started at the earliest.
During the program, the PWD Minister while approving the demand for a bridge of Rs 40 lakh on the canal at Kapurthala Road and Nahala village in West Assembly Light said that work will be started here soon. Apart from this, the work of building two new schools will also be started soon.
Shri Singla dedicated a 3.75 km long and 10 m wide road at Halka Shahkot which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 3.71 crore. The construction work of this road was started in the month of July, which was completed within the stipulated six months. He said that apart from this, the work of repairing roads in the urban areas of Gohir-Nakodar-Malsiya has also been done. 51 lakh rupees have been spent on repairing Goheer road, Rs 77 lakh on Nakodar road and Rs 42 lakh for repairing the urban road of Malasiyan. Several prominent dignitaries were present on this occasion, including the MLA Hardev Singh Laddi Sherwalia.
