After a crushing defeat in the Adelaide Test match, the Indian team made a stunning comeback in the second Test match and defeated Australia. India’s performance as a team was very good. But despite this victory, the team management will definitely be worried about the form of some Indian batsmen. Cheteshwar Pujara and Mayank Agarwal have not managed to score runs with their bat in the series so far. The performance of both batsmen has been very mediocre even after the second Test match. Former India veteran Sunil Gavaskar has advised Pujara to talk to the batting coach.
Sunil Gavaskar said, ‘Cheteshwar Pujara should talk to batting coach Vikram Rathore. Because that’s what they are appointed for. ‘ He said, ‘Pujara faced some great balls. The ball he was dismissed in Adelaide and Melbourne was a great ball. The batsman cannot do much on such balls. While in the last innings of the second match, he was in a hurry. Usually we do not see Cheteshwar Pujara playing like this.
Cheteshwar Pujara has scored 43,0,17 and 3 runs in four innings of both matches so far. While Mayank Agarwal’s form also remains a concern for the team management. Mayank Agarwal has scored 17,0,9 and 5 runs in four innings of two Tests. After the return of team management Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal can be left out of the team. Cheteshwar Pujara had scored over 500 runs on the previous Australia tour. The current Border-Gavaskar Test series is equal to 1-1. The next Test match will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground from 7 January.
