Patna : Bihar home department in-charge minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav on Monday informed the state assembly that only 202 officers are currently working on the sanctioned posts of 359 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers in the state. While answering a question related to the shortage of IAS officers in the state of AIMIM member Akhtarul Iman during the Question Hour in the Bihar Legislative Assembly on Monday, Minister in-charge of the Home Department said that the sanctioned number of IAS officers of Bihar cadre is 359, while the present Only 202 officers are working in the state.
He said that out of the 359 sanctioned posts of IAS officers in the state, 78 posts are reserved for central deputation. 31 officers are currently on central deputation. Six are reserved for training. 48 are for state level deputation. In addition to 32 junior officers, 109 promotions are of quota. Stating that the officers are discharging their duties efficiently and effectively in maintaining law and order and developmental work, Bijendra Yadav said that 14 IAS officers have been given additional charge of more than one department.
