Many regional satraps are going to suffer a major setback due to the implementation of the new reservation policy (UP Panchayat Chunav 2021 Reservation List) in the three-tier panchayat elections (UP Panchayat Chunav 2021) to be held in Uttar Pradesh. The Mulayam family has suffered this setback. For the first time in 25 years, after the seat of Saifai block chief is reserved for SC women, now the rule of Mulayam family is going to end. This seat has been occupied by a member of the Mulayam family for the last 25 years, but this time it is not possible to do so.
Since the formation of the Saifai block, the chair of the block chief has been with Mulayam Singh’s nephews, the grandson of former MP and Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav’s son-in-law Tej Pratap and his parents. Currently, Lalu’s Samadhan and Tej Pratap’s mother Mridula Yadav are the block heads. This time, due to the SC woman being reserved, the SP will have to find a candidate, that too, who is very close to the family.
Till now the general and OBC remained the same
For the first time in the year 1995, Saifai block was formed and then this seat has been reserved for general or OBC only. Ranveer Singh Yadav, nephew of Mulayam Singh Yadav, was first elected block chief in 1995. Even in the elections held in the year 2000, only Ranvir Singh won again. However, after his death in 2002, Mulayam Singh’s second nephew Dharmendra Yadav became the block chief from here. In 2005, Ranveer Singh’s son Tej Pratap Singh Yadav won the block major elections. Tej Pratap won in 2010 too, but in the 2014 elections, Tej Pratap was elected as an MP from Mainpuri Lok Sabha after which his mother Mridula Yadav won the election of block chief in 2015.
The new reservation policy changed the game, Saifai’s administration also went
This time the state government implemented the reservation afresh and issued a decree to reserve the seats which were never reserved for the SC on priority. Due to this decree, Saifai seat has been reserved for SC women for the first time. Please tell that Darshan Singh Yadav, a childhood companion of Mulayam Singh Yadav, was the head of Saifai Gram Panchayat for 48 years. For the first time he became the village head of Saifai in 1972, from then till the last election he was winning the election continuously. After his death in October 2020, the District Magistrate handed over the responsibility of the post of Principal to the daughter-in-law of his family. However, now this seat has also been reserved for SC.
