Patna :The Left also strongly condemned the police lathicharge on the Raj Bhavan march of farmers in Bihar’s capital Patna today in support of agitating farmers against the agricultural law, warning the Nitish government to desist from suppressing the agrarian movement.
Bihar-Jharkhand in-charge of All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee and General Secretary of All India Kisan Mahasabha strongly condemned police lathi charge on farmers and said that Chief Minister Mr. Kumar should desist from suppression of farmer movements. He said that more than ten thousand farmers from far-flung areas of Bihar had come to Patna with their legitimate demands and wanted to submit a memorandum to the Governor of Bihar but instead of adopting a sensitive attitude, the administration took the path of repression.
Shri Singh said that it is not a matter of any government to suppress the peasant movement arising in Bihar in protest against the agricultural laws. He said that this agitation of farmers will force the government to push back.
At the same time, Kunal, the state secretary of Communist Party of India (CPI-Male), strongly criticized the police action on the peaceful Raj Bhavan march of farmers and said that the government should take a sensitive attitude towards the agitated farmers but it is speaking the language of sticks is. He said that the government desisted from repressive actions.
