Ground report from Surat’s Diamond Burse: Mumbai-based diamond companies moving Surat, property prices up 15%; More than thousand calls are coming every week for inquiry

The world’s largest diamond burs, or bullion, built in Khajod, has changed the picture of Surat, the economic capital of Gujarat. The diamond trade will start from June 2022 next year. These burs are being prepared at a cost of Rs. 2400 crore in an area of 6 lakh square feet.
Office positions will start being given here from April-May of 2021 and it will be ready by December. As the date for diamond burs commencing, the diamond merchants from Mumbai have started coming to Surat in a big way. According to an estimate, Mumbai based merchants are getting more than a thousand calls every week for property inquiries in Surat.
Skyland Group builder Piyush Sheta said that there is a two-week waiting for property registration in Surat. We also try to provide facilities and environment like Mumbai to the people here.
70 Diamond Companies in Mumbai Surat Shift
So far, around 70 diamond companies have come to Surat from Mumbai since the Coronary period, while over 500 diamond companies are expected to come here in the next three to five years. Due to the international airport with Diamond Burs in Surat and bullet train under construction, diamond companies are moving to Mumbai and settling in Surat.
Most of Surat’s diamond companies have their corporate head office in the new Bandra Kurla Complex (Heera Burse). There are units of diamond companies in areas such as Borivali, Malad, Goregaon, Dahisar.
In Surat, the price per square feet of apartments rose by 10% to 15%.

Ashish Doshi, vice chairman of Diamond Burse, said that the business would start by June 2022. He told that a metro station is being built near Burse, due to which 25 thousand people will travel in peak hours. Bursa Campus will have 50 thousand employees working simultaneously.

90% of shift people in Mumbai, 12 to 22 storey buildings are being built
