New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi said here on Wednesday that to become self-reliant, self-confidence is very important. Youth will be born with confidence in their ability, education and skills. For this, the government has been the most focused on the education sector after health in the budget.
Addressing a seminar organized to discuss budgetary provision in the education sector, the Prime Minister said that the government is focusing on education, skills, research and innovation. This will help in fulfilling the dream of a self-reliant India. The Prime Minister said that the new education policy has been prepared only to instill confidence in the youth. The need now is that it should be brought down to the ground level as soon as possible.
The Prime Minister said that the use of local languages has been encouraged under the new education policy. In such a situation, it is our duty to have the best knowledge of the country and the world available in these languages.
He said that in the last few years, education is being linked with employment generation and enterprise capacity development. This policy has been expanded in the current budget.
The Prime Minister said that confining knowledge and research in one circle would be a great injustice to the country’s strength. With this thinking, gates have been opened for talented youth in many fields like space, atomic energy, DRDO and agriculture.
Describing energy security as essential for self-reliance, the Prime Minister said that in future, green energy will prove to be helpful in this direction. Hydrogen mission has been resolved in the current budget. The need is that we now try to make hydrogen into operational fuel.
Calling for innovation and investment in the field of biotechnology, the Prime Minister said that this will make it possible to double the food security and income of farmers. The country is doing research work in this field and there is a lot of hope from the industry for investing in it.
