The flavor of potatoes, peas, mushrooms, chicken, lentils and chapattis with fenugreek leaves is enhanced. Fenugreek is also said to have many health benefits such as lowering glucose and cholesterol levels. Fenugreek can also help in losing weight.

There is a popular belief that drinking water mixed with fenugreek seeds or fenugreek tea helps a person lose weight. A study about this belief was done by Jiayung Bey on overweight Korean women. Tea made using fenugreek was given to subjects. Hunger was found to decrease and this led to reduced food consumption as subjects felt full for longer periods.
