Varanasi : People were amazed to see the passion, sportsmanship and style of playing of Divyang cricketers in the wheelchair cricket tournament at Sampurnanand Sports Stadium in Sigra on Friday. For the first time in Kashi, a large number of people gathered in the stadium to see the amazing cricket match. Seeing people sitting in wheelchairs, filming, batting, bowling, wicket-keeping and running on wickets, people kept cheering the players fiercely amid applause. The players were also successful in conveying their physical deficiencies in sports skills and the message of getting ahead in life with enthusiasm like normal people in the teammates.
Self organized under the banner of Uttar Pradesh Divyang Cricket Association. As the chief guest in charge of BJP Kashi area and Kannauj MP Subrata Pathak, the Chief Guest in Rajit Prasad Yadav Memorial Wheelchair Cricket Competition got acquainted with the players and encouraged them. In the competition, there was a competition between the team of Para Sambhav Sport Academy Varanasi and King of Mirzapur. Players in wheelchairs followed the rules of cricket enthusiastically. Santosh Pandey, the captain of the Para Sambhav Sport Academy, strongly encouraged the enthusiasm of fellow players.
Dr. Uttam Ojha of Divyang Cricket Association said that two teams of Para Sambhav Sport Academy and King of Mirzapur are participating in the tournament. These two teams consist of Divyang players from almost all the districts of Purvanchal. During the competition, the president of the association Dr. Sanjay Chaurasia, convenor Chhote Lal Pandey, Bharat Bhushan also added to the enthusiasm of the players.
Officials said that if the competition is successful, it will be organized in the state and all India level by giving it a big shape. Divyang players have talent. When given a chance, the name of the district and the state can be illuminated.
