Last month Britain reported that a new variant of Corona virus has been found in their country. Such countries, including India, stopped the flights of Britain with immediate effect, but the virus reached many countries before that, including India. Within five days, 29 variants of this variant called B.1.1.7 have been found in India. Currently, people coming from Britain to India and those coming in contact with them in the last 38 days are being traced.
Around 33,000 passengers from the UK arrived at different airports in India from 25 November to 23 December 2020 midnight. Now all these passengers are being tracked and their RT-PCR tests are done.
The new strain of Corona has also been found in several countries such as Denmark, Netherlands, Australia, Italy, Sweden, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Japan, Lebanon and Singapore. Know how and where this variant has spread in India so far.
First 6 cases came on Tuesday
On Tuesday, December 29, for the first time in India, 6 people infected with the new strain of Corona virus were detected. After this, the government started contact tracing. The UK’s new variant was found in 3 samples at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences Hospital (NIMHANS), Bangalore. Apart from this, 2 Cellular and Molecular Biology in Hyderabad and a National Institute of Virology were found in Pune.
14 more cases were reported in India on Wednesday
On December 30, 14 more people returned to India from Britain, a new strain of corona virus was found, after which the figure reached 20. 4 of the new patients are from Delhi. Samples of 8 of these 14 patients were examined at Delhi’s National Center for Diseases, 4 at NIMHANS, 1-1 at Delhi’s Institute of Integrative Biology and West Bengal’s National Institute of Biomedical Genomics.
Five more cases on Thursday, 25 patients in India
On Thursday, 5 more Corona virus positive cases were found in which a new strain was found. Of these latest 5 cases, 4 were investigated at Pune’s National Virology and one at Delhi’s Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology. The infected people are kept in isolation at government health centers.
4 more patients were found on Friday
So far, a total of 29 infected with new strains of Corona virus have been found in India. According to the Health Ministry, 4 of these cases were detected on Friday.
