Patna : Electric buses will start operating in Bihar. In the first phase, 12 electric buses will start operating. Apart from these electric buses, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will flag off a total of 82 buses from Samvad Bhavan. Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi, Transport Minister Sheela Kumari will also be present on the occasion. Transport Secretary Sanjay Kumar Aggarwal said that buses are being launched to provide affordable, accessible, accessible, safe and state-of-the-art transport service to the people.

Of these, 15 luxury, 25 deluxe and 30 cm deluxe buses are being operated on 43 different routes of Bihar. The commencement of the operation of these buses will provide connectivity to the capital from all 38 districts of the state. The journey from the district and block headquarters to the capital will be much easier. A total of 25 electric buses will start operating on the Patna Municipal Bus Service and various routes in Bihar by the last week of March. For operation of electric buses, 15 electric buses of length 9 meters and 10 electric buses of length 12 meters are being received on OPEX model. At present, 12 buses have been received by the corporation.

These buses will be operated on various routes of Patna-Rajgir, Patna-Muzaffarpur and Patna Municipal Services. The remaining buses will be received by 15 March. The Secretary said that all electric buses are air-conditioned and equipped with modern facilities. 15 electric buses with a length of 9 meters will be 37 seater, while 10 buses of 12 meter length will be 45 seater. Emergency gates and emergency windows are also available inside the buses. A total of 1200 kW charging stations have been built in the transport complex Phulwarisharif for charging electric buses. It has 6 charging points of 120 kW and two charging points of 240 kW. Electric buses will open from here only after being charged every night.

Once charged, it will run 225-250 km. It will be completely pollution free – fully air-conditioned – CCTV camera. All buses will have three-three displays, panic button facility, mobile charging facility for passengers inside the bus, public announcement system, smart ticketing and intelligent vehicle tracking system. Emergency button and alarm bell will also be there. While the luxury bus will be fully air conditioned. This bus with two by two pushback seats will have CCTV, public announcement system, display board, fire fighting equipment, emergency gate. Whereas deluxe / semi deluxe will be fully air-conditioned, two by two pushback, CCTV, public announcement system, display board and fire fighting system.
