Business community should help in making sports a vibrant industry: Rijiju Funny Jokes

New Delhi : Addressing a virtual conference of the 6th CII Scorecard organized by the Indian Industry Conference on Friday, Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the business fraternity should come forward to help the government in making sports a vibrant industry in India.

Kiran Rijiju said, “Sports is a big industry, if we really take it forward, it can become a big part of India’s gross domestic product (GDP). Through this, you can also give excellent direction to the youth. CII can play a role in making sports a vibrant industry. The industry can set the target of what the game should be in GDP. ”

At the same time, while congratulating the United Kingdom for hosting the Olympics thrice, Rijiju said that India will also host the Olympics in the coming years. This will help in establishing the country as a sporting power. He said that “India has never claimed its rightful place in the Games. The Olympics are the biggest event in the Games. London has hosted three Olympics, while Tokyo has already hosted one Olympics ahead of schedule for this year. In such a situation, the Olympic movement is not complete until India hosts an Olympic Games. We are taking it very seriously. “

The Sports Minister said that hosting the major events helps in preparing the framework of the nation, for which it is the usefulness of the industry. He said that after the lockdown, tournaments have resumed all over the world and they are happening successfully. We have a shooting World Cup in Delhi later this month and a Badminton Super Series is due in May this year. In such a situation, I expect the industry to organize some international events in Bharat under Corporate Social Responsibility. World class infrastructure built with the help of industries under public-private partnership will be very helpful in improving the level of sports in the country.

The Sports Minister also spoke of two major initiatives, Khelo India and Fit India, by the Ministry. He appealed to corporates to launch Fit India movement in their offices. He also said that he wants the Khelo India movement to grow in the country and reach small towns and villages where young children can be raised from the base level. He also said that after the Khelo India Winter Games in Kashmir this year, the ministry is planning to start winter sports facilities in Jammu, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.
