Dispur: The BJP’s Central Election Committee (CEC) on Thursday evening finalized the names of party candidates for the 86 constituencies of Assam, which will stand for the first two phases of the assembly elections to be held on March 27 and April 1. A senior party official said that the list of BJP candidates for seats in Assam, who will go to the polls in the first two phases, has been finalized. He said, “The names have been finalized after discussions. Now the party will call him to declare the candidate. “
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief J.P. Nadda, Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and National General Secretary (Organization) B.L. Santosh and other CEC members were present. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonewal, state in-charge of the party Baijayant Panda, election in-charge of Assam Narendra Singh Tomar and co-in-charge Jitendra Singh were also present at the meeting.
