On Friday, a 30-year-old man was beaten to death by a mob in the Muktanand Park Santacruz West area of Mumbai. The young man’s name was Shahzad Khan (Saijjad Khan). At the same time, after the incident, the brother of the deceased lodged an FIR with the police, after which a case of murder has been registered on 6 accused.
Police said that during the investigation, the local people said that the incident took place on the morning of 25 December when Shahzad Khan allegedly reached to steal the mobile phone in charge of the workers sleeping in the park. Some people caught him there and started beating him. Shahdaz died due to the continuous beating of the crowd.
Brother told, used to take drugs
The brother of the deceased told that Shahzad Khan used to take drugs. Bhai said that he often used to go to Muktanand Park with his friends to get drugs. On Friday too, he left the house at 4 am. Shortly after going out, someone told my mother that my brother was lying on the road. By the time we reached there, he was dead.
Let us know that the six people associated with this case – Hrishikesh Pasi (24), Hayat Ali (26), Alimuddin Shaikh (24), Motibur Alam (19), Maskar Ferozuddin (18) and Pintukumar Shah (25), were told by the Santa Cruz Police on Sunday. The incident took place between 12.30 am and 4.30 am. By the time Shahzad arrived, some workers were awake, he grabbed Khan and tied him to a pole and beat him. A few minutes later, Khan returned to the same place and started arguing with the accused who again assaulted him.
