Kangana Runot has announced the second film of the ‘Manikarnika’ franchise on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. The title of this film will be ‘Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda’. She is co-producing the film with producer Kamal Jain, who landed her on screen as Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi in the franchise’s first film.
Didda, famous as the Witch Queen of Kashmir
Rani Didda is famous in history as the witch queen of Kashmir. It is said that this name was given to him by the King Maharajas only to hide his manhood. Didda was married to King Kshemgupta of Kashmir. When the king died, people asked him to be Sati under the practice of Sati. Queen Didda is said to have forced a robber like Mohammed Ghaznavi to flee twice. There is also an anecdote about her in history that once Queen Didda had reached out with only 500 soldiers to fight a 35000 army contingent and won the battle in just 45 minutes.
‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ came in 2019
Directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi aka Krish and Kangana Ranot, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ was released on 25 January 2019. Kangana played the role of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi in the film. He was accompanied by Atul Kulkarni, Jissu Sengupta, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayub and Ankita Lokhande. The film collected around 92 crores at the box office.
Kangana Ranot is busy shooting for ‘Dhakad’
Talking about Kangana’s workfront, she is currently shooting for ‘Dhakad’ in Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, his ‘Tejas’ is also an under production. He was former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.J. Jayalalithaa has completed shooting for biopic ‘Thalaivi’, which may be released this year.
