News agency ANI quoted the National Center for Seismology as saying that a magnitude 5.0 Richter earthquake occurred in Champhai, 98 km southeast of Mizoram at around 7.29 pm on Thursday evening. A day before this, mild tremors were felt in a village in Palghar district of Maharashtra on Wednesday. A 2.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in Dundalwadi village of Dahanu tehsil at 11.51 AM. However, there was no loss of life or property. Several geopolitical activities were also felt in this area several times between 2018 and 2019.
